Move to Sri Lanka: the complete guide!
Located in South India, Sri Lanka is a wonderful nation, rich in breathtaking landscapes, places of historical interest but above all the cradle of a great spiritual philosophy: Buddhism.
Although it is little known in these respects, it boasts a very high growth rate, which every year is characterized by a substantial increase in population and investors who decide to buy a property in Sri Lanka.
Are you doing a little thinking about it?
Are you afraid of not being able to take the big step?
Do you think it's too risky an investment?
No problem! With our mini guide you will have all the information you need to understand if this land can be right for you.
Among the sectors in which you can find a job are: tourism, agriculture, information technology and infrastructure.
Although the official language is Sinhalese, with English you will do very well!
The passport is the official document that will allow you to make the trip, after which you must apply for a visa.
The maximum period of stay in Sri Lanka is 90 days, at the end of which it is necessary to apply for an extension of the visa for another 60 days.
To apply for a tourist visa is necessary:
- Valid passport
- Three photographs of the applicant ( 3,5 x 4,5 cm)
- Evidence of the applicant's financial position
- Written insurance for the return to the country of residence
- Applicant's fingerprints
- Any other documents that the prescribing authority deems necessary
A visitor visa can be applied online for 30 days, which can be extended.
N.B. a tourist visa cannot be converted into a residence visa (for which the procedure is different).
Let's now move on to the real estate market.
If you are an expat who wants to buy a property, know that recently the government has lifted the ban on foreigners buying a property.
The taxes for buying an apartment are different, but they will allow you to get in order before going into unfortunate situations.
Prices start from a minimum of 20,000 euros, to a maximum of 200,000 for extra luxury villas.
There is no need to dwell on the local beauties, (it would be reductive to talk about it in a simple article, don't you think?).
We wish you a good trip and good luck for this experience that will change your life!
